SAN FRANCISCO ALAMEDA NAVAL BASE CALIFORNIA CA. Very Good. 1965. On offer is a super, original 1965 - 1967 manuscript log book of United States Navy diver, Brian Eugene Mayer stationed at the Alameda Navel Base, California. The 8.5 x 6 inch book is about half full with details Brian's work duties from the mundane to the often gruesome and always dangerous job of diving throughout the San Francisco Bay area waters recovering buoys and bodies and much in between. Much of the writings are technical and statistical and Brian's no nonsense entries record standard underwater work and repairs, the diving conditions are stated along with the date and the type of equipment used. A search for bodies in shark infested waters highlights the dangers this brave man lived with in each dive.
