About the author

Kent Hickey left the practice of law thirty years ago to teach high school theology and - aside from marrying his wife, Terry - considers that decision to have been the best of his life. In addition to teaching Scripture and coaching soccer, Kent has also served as a head of school for the past 23 years, 15 as President of Seattle Preparatory School. His other joys include interfering in the lives of his three adult children (Hannah, Eddie, and Sam), following the Green Bay Packers, and volunteering as a living historian every summer at Appomattox Court House, Virginia (where he plays the role of 1865 newspaper reporter, John Dennett).
