Two volumes uniformly bound in early C20th black leather over lilac beaded cloth; raised bands and brown leather title labels on spines; orange-and-white patterned endpapers. Light scuffing to leather, small chip to edge of title label on Volume 1, otherwise very good. Todd [3772a/73]. First issue with contents pages in Volume 1 incorrectly numbered. Series half-title bound in. Setting: France in the reign of Henri IV (1595).
