In the publisher's original cloth binding, this copy is profusely illustrated with drawings and plans throughout. A very scarce work. Illustrated with 5 plates. Tewkesbury is a small town located in Gloucestershire, England. At its heart in the large Abbey Church of St Mary the Virgin, which boasts the largest Romanesque crossing tower in the entirety of Europe. With the booksellers label of Cawthorn and Co to the head of the front pastedown, and the binders label of Bone and Son to the rear pastedown. A lovely work of local history explore this notable piece of religious architecture. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally Lightly bumped to the head and tail of the spine. Light dampstaining to the front board, with patches of rubbing to the front and rear boards. Booksellers label to the head of the front pastedown. Binders label to the tail of the rear pastedown. Tide mark to the head of the front endpaper, with light handling marks to the front and rear endpapers. Internally firmly bound. Pages are generally clean with light spots, heavier to the plates.
