About This Item
From the Introduction: "History has always been important to our family. We believe in the old saying, "In order to know which way we are headed, we need to know where we've been in the past." The Shaw family has traced its history since 1819 when my great great grandparents, Joseph and Sarah Shaw, and their children sailed to North America after traveling by wagon from Boston, Lincolnshire to Liverpool, England. History is delicate. It is hard to keep a whole story intact. Thankfully, almost half a century ago, my cousins Rita Ashton and Velma Churchlill had the foresight to interview our great grandparents, Phelan and Agnes Shaw, research countless records and reconstruct that journey. It was from those seeds of information about our family that this book was developed."
B&W and colour photos and illustrations throughout. Glossy pictorial d.j. Related bookmark laid in.
