Russell And Company of Boston in 1865 . The 1865 publication was preceded by a twenty-four page pamphlet with the title OUR MARTYRED PRESIDENT . Jay Monaghan dates this Lothrop variant 1881 two years before D. Lothrop & Company released a new edition of the material . This 1881 Lothrop printing is a variant of the B.B. Russell 1865 edition is identified by the attribution to Mrs. Hanaford on the title page as the author of " Life of Charles Dickens " , " Life Of George Peabody " , and " Women Of The Century ". Mrs. Hanaford . ( Phebe Ann Coffin , 1829 - 1921 ) was an American Universalist minister and the first woman to be ordained in New England . The binding is tight on this well-made 1881 volume . The decorative graphics on the front board and spine are bright . The interior is clean , no marks of any kind .
