Concord, New Hampshire: Marsh, Capen & Lyon. Good+ with no dust jacket. 1830. Leather. A compact abridgement of the essays by the noted Scottish minister of religion, Hugh Blair (1718-1800). The subject matter greatly varies in these lectures, but they range from defining 'taste' to types of poetry. Each page with questions (but not answers) derived by Rev. J. L. Blake, from the text on that page. --- In full leather binding with titling on red spine block. --- The volume is firm and bright, but has been exposed to dampness, thus is rippled throughout. Cover with rubbing; an apparently blank page has been torn out at rear of volume. ; 24mo 5" - 6" tall; 344 pages .
