A deluxe edition offering the previously unpublished play by Washington Irving (1783-1859) which features his Abu Hassan character, borrowed from the Arabian Nights. One of a limited edition of 455 unnumbered copies, published for members of the Bibliophile Society. With an introduction by George S. Hellman. With tissue-protected facsimile pages from Irving's original manuscript. Bibliophile Society Announcement to Members laid in. (Note: Washington's "The Wild Huntsman" is not present.) --- In full olive linen-finish cloth-covered boards backed in vellum, with gilt-stamped spine titling. Top edge gilt, remaining textblock edges deckled. --- With prior owner's bookplate affixed to front paste-down, some dulling to top edge gilding, and soiling to vellum, otherwise a very nice copy: clean, and bright.; Tall Octavo (9 to 10 in. tall); 83 pages .
