Richard Tottel, 1576. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1576. No Edition Remarks. Two titles bound together. 19th-century rebind: half brown leather, marbled paper covered boards. Ex libris plate to front pastedown. Accedens of Armorie (Legh, pub. Tottel, 1576, 135f). Workes of Armorie (Bossewell, Totelli, 1572, 30f and 132f). Extensive burn damage to lower edges of most pages; trimmed by a previous owner with some loss of text. Legh is missing f50-65 and the fold-out plate. Bossewell includes all 3 parts but bound in different order; missing some pages to rear. Pages are marked with heavy tanning and thumbing. Slight orange marks to title page. Various moderate stains, sometimes affecting text. Some crests painted in relatively recent bright colours. Slight warping and thumbing. Boards have heavy edge wear, with intense bumping and peeling to corners. Spine ends are very crushed and frayed. Joints worn too with splits; rear board almost detached. Scratched, rubbed and marked overall.
