Poughkeepsie, New York: The Artists and Writers Guild, Authorized American Edition, 1935. Paperback. 4to ( 29 cm x 23.5 cm), pictorial color wrappers. 26 pp., numerous color illus. A charming 1935 reproduction of an original H. G. Wells illustrated manuscript, written when he was a boy, with printed text below. Appearing on the verso of the title page is a printed author inscription to Miss Marjory Hicks, and an excerpt of an 1898 letter from Henry Hicks explaining the origins of the story. CONDITION: Very good, light wear, wrappers toned, spine rubbed, interior clean and very appealing.
