London, John Murray, 1924. 1st Edition. 240 pages. Near fine blue cloth covers gilt. Internall good with rashes of foxing throughout. Frontis map and numerous black and white ills. 2 folding coloured maps at rear of book in fine condition. Keeling served in the Mesopotamian Campaign, and was present at the surrender of Kut by the British at the hands of Ottoman forces. Following the surrender, he served as a prisoner of war in Turkey until his escape, which eventually landed him in Bolshevik Russia. Scarce.
