Illustrator: Werner Forman -- Photographer. the dustjacket has a large chunk missing from the bottom right-hand corner of the front panel, and has other minor damage. It is price clipped. The top edge of the rear panel of the book has been rubbed and bumped about 3 inches from the spine. There is no other damage to describe. The book is clean and free of annotation. It has 42 colour illustrations, illustrated end pages, and about 240 black-and-white photographs. Of interest because of the architecture, and arts. includes a couple of maps and some facsimiles of documents. Conquest and colonial rule comprises one final chapter.
