The author's provide a fascinating look at the "nuts and bolts" of early aviation: chapters on the theory of flight, rigging the plane, assembling the Curtis Jen Air, Wright Whirlwind Engines, Curtiss D-12, Liberty, Packard, Pratt and Whitney Wasp, Wright-Hispano Engine, Instruments, Troubleshooting, Constructing Airports, etc. Contains a glossary and index in the rear. The covers are the original publisher's green cloth binding with bright gilt spine lettering. This is a very nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no owner names, and no bookplates. This book was obviously used very little. ; B&W Illustrations & Photographs; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 464 pages .
