Heidelberg: L. Meder (H. Wurtzburg), Hauptstrasse 168, [ca. 1879]. 8vo. 7 sepia-tinted photo images (6.5 x 4.25 ins.), rounded corners, red lettering & borders, bound together with linen hinges in accordian-style format, tipped-in. Beautifully ornate and decorated illustrated Victorian red cloth, with image on front cover in gilt, gray, black, red & pink, lettering in black & gilt (very slight bumping, very minor shelfwear), an excellent copy. First edition of this wonderful Victorian postcard travel souvenir for Heidelberg, Germany, published at the time of the Franco-Prussian War. There is a panoramic image above the town, the ruined castle, and the famous Heidelberg Tun the gigantic wine barrel in the Heidelberg Castle Cellars. L. Meder was famous for their panoramic images, stereoview cards, postcards, photographic collections, and travel ephemera in the 19th century.
