Born in Vienna, Edward C. Whitmont received an M.D. degree from the University of Vienna in 1936. He has lived in the United States since 1938, maintaining a private practice in New York City in analytical psychology. He is a founding member and former chairman of the C.G. Jung Training Center in New York. He has lectured and published widely on psychosomatics, homeopathy, alchemy, and psychology.

First line

While studying the toxicology of Peruvian bark German physician Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) was struck by the similarity between quinine poisoning and malaria, against which it was used as a medicine.
