Sexton's illustrations mark a distinct approach to illustrating the tale, with Alice presented much older - almost a young teenager - than usual. Quarto. Original orange cloth-backed pictorial boards, spine lettered in black. With dust jacket. With 8 colour and 23 black and white full page illustrations, many smaller black and white illustrations throughout the text all by D. R. Sexton. School presentation bookplate dated 1934 to front pastedown. Light rubbing at extremities, minor foxing to edges and contents, pages partly unopened. An excellent copy in the very good jacket, chipped and rubbed at extremities with paper reinforcement repair on verso, but the recto bright and presentable, with the repairs blended in.
