Tan cloth over boards with gilt lettering and stamped black decorations on the spine, red lettering with gilt highlights and a stamped black illustration on the front board. Patterned end papers. Tissue protected frontis engraving that faces the half title page which has a vignette-style engraving (matches that on the front board). Previous owner's gift inscription on the recto of the first blank preliminary page. The interior is very clean (no foxing present) and the binding is sound and solid. The exterior shows mild wear to the corners and spine tips while the spine and the one-third of the board adjacent to the spine are darkened or sunned. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted. .
