- Arnold Shaw authored the books "The Rock Revolution", the World of Soul: Black America's Contribution to the Pop Music Scene", "The Street That Never Slept, 52nd Street" and "The Rockin' 50's" among others. He taught music for about 10 years at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and founded the Popular Music Research Center there in 1985.
- During the 1950s and 1960s he did public relations and advertising for Elvis Presley, Burt Bacharach and Paul Simon.
