X Press, 1973. First Edition. . Stapled Wraps. Good/No Jacket (Paperback). Edition limited to 260 copies. Pages unnumbered. Joyce Holland was an alter-ego invented by experimental poet and trickster Dave Morice, who edited, under her name, "Matchbook," a matchbook-sized (and bound) magazine devoted exclusively to one-word poems. This collection of one-letter poems includes a remarkable list of 104 contributors - including Bruce Andrews, Joe Brainard, Andrei Codrescu, Tom Disch, Larry Eigner, Kenward Elmslie, Dick Higgins, Anselm Hollo, Michael Lally, Maureen Owen, Ron Padgett, Bob Perelman, Kit Robinson, Tomaz Salamun, Ron Silliman, Paul & Ann Violi, Anne Waldman and John Wieners - each contributing a single letter. The index lists in descending order the number of contributions per letter, from o (12) to c (0). Wrappers sunned, edgeworn, marked "1974" on front, stained at rear; corners bumped and creased, with chipping to front lower corner; check mark next to one name in Contributors list. Quite uncommon. Size: Narrow 8vo
