Also includes a signed note dated in the year of publication by Sir Ian McKellen. <br /> <br /> The note reads:<br /> "Dear Jane & Bob Emerson- many thanks for delivering the books. Amadeus duly signed. ever / Ian McKellen"<br /> <br /> Academy Award winner Ian McKellen, who recieved a Tony Award for his performance in Amadeus, starred as Salieri in the 1981 initial Broadway appearance of the play. McKellen starred alongside Tim Curry and Jane Seymour. The book signed by Jane and Bob Emerson who managed the Drama Book Shop in NYC (now famously owned by Lin-Manuel Miranda. A spectacular copy of the book signed by the man known for bringing Salieri to life and greatly influencing the performance of F. Murray Abraham in the film version.
