Interesting to read to understand where America was as a nation and compare to today's world. Bound in blue half cloth with red panel on spine with gilt titles within, blue-green patterned paper-wrapped boards; clean and unmarked, sunned along edges; slight rubbing of some edges; lower front corner gently bumped. Fore edge of text block has three pale spotted areas. Red endpapers; inner hinge cracked; wobble to the spine. Former owner name on title page. Pages clean and completely unmarked, evenly and lightly toned. Red-blue-white, clean, rubbed jacket has wear to edges with chipping around spine ends, v-shaped (an inch deep and across) piece out of rear upper edge. 1036 pages with Notes for Further Reading and Index. 9.75 x 6.5 inches.
