Boston : DeWolfe, Fiske and Company, 1883. First edition. Cloth. Good. 12" by 9.5". None. An illustrated depiction of the history of America. The first edition of this work. In the original pictorial cloth binding. Loosely inserted are two plates from different works depicting indigenous people of America. The colour plate conveys the Prince of Wales meeting the 'Chippewa Indians'. This work is edited by J David Williams. This work draws a focus on the history of the areas of natural beauty in America. It discusses places such as The Valley of the Yellowstone, The Hudson River, The White Mopuntains, Lake George, Niagara Falls and more. In a full cloth binding with gilt stamping to the front board and to spine. Externally, generally smart with bumping to the head and tail of spine and slight rubbing at the extremities. Further rubbing to the spine and joints, heaviest at the head and tail. Front hinge is tender as is rear hinge. Binding is tender. Pages are slightly age toned with the odd spots throughout. Good
