About This Item
Grosset & Dunlap, New York, 1924. Photoplay. Hardcover. Very Good+ Condition/Very Good+. Book First Photoplay Edition, illustrated with scenes from D. W. The story plays out against the frontier fighting in upstate New York during the American Revolution. Illustrated with seven full-page stills from the film, printed on coated stock The text block is followed by seven unnumbered pages of advertising for other G&D series First Thus. Size: 7.5"-8" - Small Octavo (Sm. 8vo). 399 pages. Item Type: Book. The text block is tight, bright and unmarked, except for one pencil mark in the margin next to a paragraph in the Prologue, p. xxv. Blue cloth over boards with black title and illustration of the Liberty Bell on the front cover. Minimal wear at the corners with a slight bump to the top corner of the front cover. It is now protected in a clear archival Brodart cover. Dust Jacket un-clipped and features a G&D catalog on the inside of the jacket. It looks as if a previous owner's name was erased from the front free end paper. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
