Book might be likened to de Tocqueville's ' Democracy in America ' (1835). Some chapter headings: America - A Proof of Man's Creative Effort, Everyday Life in America, American Food, American Girls, Public Services, Roosevelt - The Man, Bill of Rights for Boys, Caste in America and India, Man versus Machine etc. 259 pp. Illustrated with b/w (1 color plate) photographs. Green boards feature gilt text on front and spine. Foreword (dated 1942 at Lahore) by The Hon'ble Khan Bahadur, Lt.-Col., Sirdar Sir Sikander Hyat Khan, K.B.E. the late Premier of the Punjab. Book was printed at the Kapur Art Printing Works in Lahore. Frontis: The Hon'ble Sir Sikander Hyat Khan. Personal Acknowledgment by author dated, September 8, 1940 at Benmore, Simla E. Prefatory by author. Book is shaken but complete with everything attached. Sain spent from April 12 to 29 October, 1939, primarily studying engineering works in a whirlwind tour of North America. Book is dedication copy to Mr. J.T. Johnston, Ottawa, Canada. " With best compliments and wishes for the New Year from the author KanwarSain(sic) " 26.10.1943.
