New York & Boston: American Anti-Slavery Society, 1839. Original wraps. Good +. The American Anti-Slavery Almanac for 1839, with its uncommon original wrappers (mustard yellow) present but detached. Understandably fragile, given its age, but stll quite presentable. Light creasing along the edges, very light staining (not affecting the legibility of the text in the slightest) running across each page. The text --and the accompanying wood-block illustrations-- are crisp and bright. 12mo, a Good+ copy of a significant piece of American (and African-American) history. "Being the Third After Bissextile or Leap-Year, and the 63d of American Independence. Calculated for Boston; Adapted to the New England States." (from the title page).
