Darlene Trew Crist is an award-winning writer who has traveled throughout Europe and the United States in search of gargoyles. She lives in Rhode Island.

First line

First used in medieval Europe to lure pagans into Christian churches, gargoyles eventually made their way across the Atlantic Ocean as immigrant stone carvers brought their talents with them to the New World.
