New York: The Century Co, 1923. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. frontis, photos and a few illustrations, [8], ix-xiv, 210p. Original blue cloth. dj. 19 cm. Jacket soiled and rather worn with some chipping and tears. When the American Expeditionary Forces embarked for France after the United States entered World War I, they were accompanied by 9000 American Red Cross nueses. According to Ms. Pickett, "[t]wo out of every three Navy nurses and four out of every five Army nurses were Red Cross Nurses." [page 45].
