New York: Thomas Y, Crowell Company, 1960. First. Near Fine/Very Good. Karl Shapiro (1913 - 2000) was an American poet. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1945 for his collection V-Letter and Other Poems. He was appointed the fifth Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress in 1946.
This copy is near fine in tan cloth with black titles on the spine and a gilt publisher's symbol in a blue badge on the spine. Very slight sunning at the top edges and slight bumping at the spine ends. No other marks or damage. The unclipped DJ has minor edge wear, scuffing and fading, and a small tear at the top of the jacket front.
