Sunning to the jacket spine and a closed tear at the top of the front panel. The book contains stories, poems and drawings from 50 writers involved with the Works Progress Administration. Among the contributors are Jim Thompson from Oklahoma, whose 6-page short story preceded his first appearance in book form by five years; and Richard Wright who about the "The Ethics of Living Jim Crow" a year before his first book was published.
