Bok (1863-1930). Born in the Netherlands, he immigrated to the United States as a child and went on to be a successful author and editor of Ladies Home Journal. Mr. Bok is credited with inventing the term "living room". --- This deluxe edition edited and introduced by W. David Lewis. Includes a frontis photographic portrait of Bok, several additional illustrations and photos. --- Number 98 in a series of annually published works continuously produced since 1903 by R. R. Donnelley & Sons, owners of the Lakeside Press. The books were not made available for sale by the publisher; rather, they were given as gifts to employees, vendors and customers at Christmastime. --- In full dark brown cloth-covered boards w/publisher's device on cover and titling on spine, all in gilt; top edge gilt. Lacks the glassine wrapper. --- A bright, clean, firm copy but with a hint of dusty soiling to covers.; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; lix, 459 pages .
