This Big Golden Book contains 21 original stories by Kathryn Jackson for young children, illustrated on nearly every page with the beloved full-color drawings of Richard Scarry. Orig. published in 1950, this is the First Printing of the 1972 reissue (First, Thus), in 68 pages with colorful decorations on every one, decorative endpapers. Oversized 4to (10.5" x 12") hardcover has glossy decorative paper over boards & is in VG- (minus) condition! Extremely clean, binding very tight & square. Colors bright, but fading along spine & into spine side of both covers. Pages surprisingly white, with a whisper of tanning to edges, but unmarked save for former owner's name & gift inscription from 1973 atop title page. Light-moderate rubbing to extremities, heaviest at all corners & both ends of spine (with some paper loss/exposure). The clear cellophane coating has peeled in places paper covering spine has cracked at joints & been reglued. No DJ as issued (never had one).
