Woodcut title vignette, title page printed in red and black. With numerous copper-engraved illustrations of coins throughout. Woodcut head-pieces with de Medici family crest, woodcut initials and tail-pieces. Small chip to lower corner of one leaf, well away from text. HARDCOVER, bound in contemporary half calf and matching paper covered boards, spine with raised bands, gilt morocco label, sprinkled edges, boards and corners chafed and rubbed. A wide margined copy, printed on handsome laid paper, with a crisp and fresh interior in exceptionally fine condition. ~ Noteworthy is Brunet's remark about the Leipzig 1696 edition: "L'édition de Leipzig, 1696, in-4, est moins chère que celle de Florence".
