Previous owners signature on half title otherwise contents clean. Admiral Mountevans' telling of his two expeditions to the Antarctic at the beginning of the twentieth century. Admiral Mountevans' publication of 'The Antarctic Challenged' came at a time when there the British were fascinated by the perils undiscovered in the Antarctic. Mountevans, otherwise known as Edward Evans, or Teddy Evans, went on two expeditions to the Antarctic during his life, once during 1902 to 1904, and again in 1910 to 1913.
