About This Item

Sammlung Lipperheide und andere Bestände des Antikenmuseums Berlin. Dies ist nicht eine zweisprachige Ausgabe. Text in Deutsch, nicht in Englisch. Erste Ausgabe. This is not a bilingual edition. Text in German only, not in English. Presumed first printing of the first edition. Printed and bound in Germany. Rust-red linen-like buckram binding, with crisp black-stamped lettering to the front board and to the spine. Unbumped spine head and tail, and with sharp corners. 11.75 x 8.25 inches. IX and 550 numbered pages, with hundreds of B&W archival photos, maps, and drawings, and few a few full-page, full-color plates. All book pages are of glossy, heavy coated stock. Pristine fold-out B&W charts between pages 174-175 and 350-351. Very faint imprint from paper clip at top of half title page. Faintest age-toning at outer edges of the pages, virtually undectable. Else an immensely clean copy, and quite tight. Almost certainly unread. Lovely full-pictorial dust jacket, unclipped. DJ protected by a clear Mylar over-wrapper. A Near Fine copy in a Near Fine DJ. Contents of the book believed based on the collections of the Römisch-Germanische Zentralmuseum in Mainz and the Antikenmuseums in Berlin. A highly significant reference book for the library of the dedicated collector of antique military helmets.

About Marc Sena Carrel
I deal principally in rare and fine books. I also sell antique prints, including Japanese ukiyo-e. I have eclectic and wide-ranging interests and my collection generally emphasizes art titles. Areas of book specialization include: Art, Architecture, Design, Antiques, Antiquities, Small Press/Fine Press. As for prints, I am chiefly interested in ukiyo-e, ornithologicals, iconography and churches. I have a small but choice selection of books and prints available for the discriminating collector/buyer. My goal is to establish and maintain a stock in trade of a few thousand fine books and a few hundred noteworthy prints.
