Two volume set, text in Latin, with cracked & stained vellum covering glued & stitched to warped boards, with some loosening at board edges; 3 inch missing chip of vellum on fore edge of vol. I; vintage hand lettering on spines & lower text block; previous owner inscription in vol. 1; text block intact with some cracking between signatures; pages lightly rippled, extensive foxing on end pages, text quite clean & bright with some darkened pages; occasional bent page corners, minor insect damage to some page margins; a remarkable copy.
