London: Frederick Warne and Co., c1930. Cloth. Good. 8" by 10.5". Not Stated. A charming copy of this illustrated alphabet for children, centered around an apple pie. With twenty fill colour pages. Collated complete. A charming children's book displaying the letters of the alphabet as connected to the making and eating of an apple pie. Written by Kate (Catherine) Greenaway, an English Victorian artist and writer known for her children's books. Her works were extremely popular in England and internationally with many of her images being imitated in England, Germany, and the United States. In the original quarter green cloth binding with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, sound with shelf wear and light chipping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and marks to the boards. Front hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd handling mark and light spotting to the endpapers. Good
