London: Cowie, Jolland, and Co, 1838. Very Good. 12mo. Four volumes in original brown cloth. xii, 340; iv, 328; iv, 328; iv, 384. Boards decorated in blind, spines with gilt lettering. Binder's ticket on front pastedown of volume 1. No illustrations, none called for. Volume 1 has front inner hinge repaired with yellow paper, small shallow chip at foot of spine and cloth repair at front joint. 4 volumes with lightly sunned spines and mild foxing. A very good clean set overall. Jonathan Scott's English translation from the Arabic, it was first published in 811 and was the first literary translation into English.
