An uncommon edition. A facsimile reproduction from part of a collection of tracts in the British Museum made by Milton's friend Thomason. 'Areopagitica' was a political speech opposing licensing and censorship and is considered a historically influential example of the defence of freedom of speech and expression.Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown.
