A section of Notes on Contributors, which include Hannah Arendt, Harold Rosenberg, Lou Silberman, Ben Halpern, the editor Arthur A. Cohen himself, and many others. The dust jacket blurb notes that the books, beyond being a compilation of the best and most notable examples of postwar Jewish thinking, "is a reader with a specific religious center. This reader is intended to disclose the interior conflict and ferment of Jewish religious thought." Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography. xviii [1], 3-541 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
