About the author

William Johnston, an Irish Jesuit, lived nearly 50 years in Japan and served as professor of religious studies and director of the Institute of Oriental Religious of Sophia University, Tokyo. His many books include The Inner Eye of Love, Mystical Theology, and Mystical Journey: An Autobiography.
