Set is in G condition overall bound in original brown hardcover boards and includes numerous steel engravings. Set is best described as follows: VOL. 1 - Overall in VG condition with rubbing to edges, bumping to spine ends, chipping to head of spine, light scuffing to boards. Binding is solid. A couple plates show light evidence of offsetting else text is clean & intact. VOL. 2 - Overall in VG condition with rubbing to edges, bumping to spine ends, chipping to head of spine, light scuffing to boards. Binding is solid. A couple plates show light evidence of offsetting else text is clean & intact. VOL. 3 - Overall in VG condition with rubbing to edges, bumping to spine ends, chipping to head of spine, light scuffing to boards. Binding is solid. Text is clean. VOL. 4 - Overall in G condition with rubbing to edges, bumping to spine ends, light scuffing to covers. Front hinge is weak. Rear hinge is weaker showing exposed case binding. Both covers are still attached to the book. Binding is solid. First plate shows light staining else text is clean & intact. VOL. 5 - Overall in G condition with rubbing to edges, bumping to spine ends. Front hinge is weak. Binding is solid. A few plates show light evidence of soiling, a couple tissue guards are missing else text is still clean & intact. VOL. 6 - Overall in G condition with rubbing to edges, bumping to spine ends, light scuffing to boards. Front hinge is weak. Rear hinge is weaker showing exposed case binding. Both covers are still attached to the book. Binding is solid. Some mild soiling noted else text is clean & intact. A handsome set rare to find in complete 6 volumes.
