About the author

Dorothy Dines and her husband, Bruce, are long-term collectors and students of Charles Partridge Adams. Stephen J. Leonard, chairperson of the History Department at Metropolitan State College of Denver, has authored several works on Colorado, including Trials and Triumphs, a pictorial history of the Great Depression, and Denver: Mining Camp to Metropolis, coauthored with Thomas J. Noel. His books and articles on Colorado have won a variety of awards. Stanley L. Cuba is an art historian and independent curator.
