Published on the occasion of the exhibition "Art Glass"Venice Palazzo Ducale 22 June-30 September 1991 .Glassworks founded in 1946 by the glass-maker Archimede Seguso (1909-99). Trained alongside his father, Antonio, a partner at Vetri Artistici Fratelli Barovier. Archimede worked for various workshops, including the family-run enterprise Seguso Vetri d'Arte (1937-73 and 1976-92) which he left in 1942. He was a leading figure in the twentieth-century revival of Venetian glass-making traditions, re-interpreting ancient Venetian traditons such as filigrana, to produce lacework patterns which he called 'merletti'.With stunning illustrations. Inside the shop there is a display of antique dolls from Ann Westwood's private collection. A special feature of the premises is a canopied forecourt where second-hand books can be bought 24 hours a day, 365 days a year!

Our opening hours are 10:00 to 17:00, Wednesday to Saturday. (Other times available by appointment)

There is nearby "Pay & Display" parking available and we are short walk from Petrsfield Station (On the London to Portsmouth route).
