[Originally,first published by same publisher 1990,this item is the first reprint,1994.] FINE/VG.No owner inscrptn but price-clip to front inner flap - but price still in situ - the publisher's original adhesive label above the clip,of £30.00.Bright, crisp,clean,glossy,colour pictorial artwork by John Yardley,illustrated dw/dj panels with black and black-outlined white letters to front panel and similar to a lightly sunned/faded spine/backstrip,rear panel also illustrated and with black lettered prose.Negligible shelf-wear,bumping, creasing to edges and corners – no major tears or splits,but a tiny snick/closed tear to rear.top corner's tip present,and some minimal, superficial scoring indents to either panel.Top+fore-edges bright and clean without any blemish; contents bright,tight,clean,solid and sound – no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners – pristine,unread, apart from my own collation.Publisher's bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered,original,plain green cloth boards with bright,crisp,blocked gilt lettering to spine/backstrip,a white headband and clean,immaculate plain yellow sets of endpapers.UK,slim,landscape 8vo HB+dw/dj,1st reprint edn,7-128pp [paginated] includes an 11pp author's introduction,100 colour (the majority) and b/w impressionist paintings by John Yardley throughout the text and the book,and an index; plus [unpaginated] half-title with colour frntis to verso,title page with a dedication+acknowledgements to its verso,and a contents list/table. Visually the exterior appearance is acceptble for book's age,and even internally,the book is in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation.It is only the exterior faults described that prevent a higher grading. A collection of a variety of subject matter - from sunlit gardens,floral arrangements,Italian piazzas,interiors,street scenes,harbour views and still lifes etc. - the paintings of the watercolor impressionist and examines his motivation and techniques.
