About This Item
MP3 Audio CD. This book written in 1915 by an American poet and a founder of modern singing poetry, in which lines are suggested to be sung or chanted. The Art of the Moving Picture is the first book to consider movies as an art. It has been the new medium in the early times. As indicated in the book, Lindsay wrote a vivid analysis of several silent films, which were now gone. He had foreseen the establishment of moviemaking, specifically about the industry, the advancement of technology, and the rising of the director as the author of the movie.People of today assumed to have known the fundamentals of a movie, and they have no interest whatsoever about its history or basics. But one should go beyond and explore the importance of movies. Anyone would likely appreciate the creativity of The Art of the Moving Picture. The best part of the book is ?The Motion Picture of Fairy Splendor,? which explains the connection between film storytelling, magic, myths, legends, and children stories. It is perplexed to read Lindsay?s writings but in an enchanting way, as he made contentions on what exactly a movie is.Lindsay is passionately interested in poetry during his stay in New York. He tried bargain his poems in the city. He bartered his pamphlet, ?Rhymes To Be Traded For Bread?, which he exchanged for food and lodging and walked his way from Jacksonville, Florida, to Kentucky, and from New York City to Ohio. He traveled on foot from places to places to advertise his poetry. He gained success when Harriet Monroe published in Poetry magazine his first poem. He became popular since then.He also excelled in declamation with exaggerated performance. He achieved success mainly because of his consistent dedication which is overtly manifested in his poetry.
