Description

Only edition of this small catalog of an exhibition dedicated to artistic holography, held in Zaragoza in December-January 1981-82. With the use of laser beams, it was now possible to depict three-dimensional bodies in space that change in shape and color. Artists saw holography as an opportunity to eliminate in one medium the antagonisms between painting and sculpture that had been discussed for centuries. Among other things, this catalog provides an introduction to the technique, which was fundamentally developed in 1948. However, it was not until the 1970s that holography became more widely known and also became a topic in art. It was seen as the medium of the future. However, with the advent of digitalization, holography quickly receded into the background of artistic exploration. (Cf. the ZKM in Karlsruhe on its collection of holographic art) As of March 2024, not in KVK, OCLC.
