Gissel Velarde, Professor of Artificial Intelligence, International University of Applied Sciences, Germany

Gissel Velarde obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the prestigious Aalborg University, Denmark. She also holds a Master's degree in Electronic Systems and Engineering Management from the University of Applied Sciences Sdwestfalen in Soest, Germany, and a Licenciatura's degree in Systems Engineering from the Universidad Catlica Boliviana, La Paz. Velarde has over twenty years of experience in Engineering and Computer Science, both in Academia and Industry. In 2020, she was named "Notable Woman" by the diversity promotion committee of the International Society for Music Information Retrieval. Among several awards, she received a teaching award in 2021 for her lecture and her students' learning outcomes on Selected Topics in Artificial Intelligence at Universidad Privada Boliviana
