Description

London: Benjamin Fisher 1630. Small 4to. [12], 88, 16, 89-230, [62] pp. Half speckled calf binding over marbled boards, with gilt stamped decoration to spine, five raised bands, and a red title label. Slight wear at extremities but in very good condition given age. Binding firm. All edges red, but the colour now only distinguishable on the tail edge as the other edges have dulled. Internally clean with minor foxing particularly to endpapers and a mark to pp. 72. Without marginalia or ownership inscriptions, but includes a small area of hand drawn decoration added in ink to the printed border on pp. [3]. A seventeenth-century guide for lawyers in the workings of the English judicial system, particularly in London. ESTC: S94768, STC: 20164 . Very Good. Half Speckled Calf. 1630.
