Brown paper over boards, lower corners bumped but otherwise very minimal wear. Binding sound. Front free endpaper has a very neat inscription in black ink titled "Kriegsweihnachten-1943" followed by a unit designation "....Sturmkompanie-Paris", and lower down on the page the signature block and signature of the company commander. Kriegsweihnachten (war Christmas) was an important celebration in the German and other armies and was formally celebrated with a dinner and exchange of gifts. This book may have been such a gift. The author, Karl Boemer was Leiter der Presseabteilung des Aussenpolitischen Amtes of the Nazi party. Churchill addressed the Pilgrims Society on 18 March to welcome the new American Ambassador to the United Kingdom, John. G.
