FIRENZE : PRESSO LEONARDO CIARDETTI, 1817. Prima edizione del 1817 di questa interessante opera di Filippo Pananti (1776-1837) poeta italiano. Pananti a causa delle sue idee liberali fu indotto a un volontario esilio, prima in Inghilterra e poi in Francia. Durante un viaggio in mare dall'Inghilterra alle coste sarde fu rapito dai pirati e ridotto in schiavitù ad Algeri. Liberato su interessamento del console britannico, lasciò un dettagliato resoconto di quest'esperienza in questo scritto.<BR><BR>L'opera è molto interessante per la descrizione degli usi e costumi dell'Algeria Berbera venne ristampata più volte nel corso dell'ottocento.<BR><BR>Bella mappa ripiegata dell'Algeria. All'interno: Tamigi, Biscaglia, Tago, Fez, rapimento, Isola di San Pietro in Sardegna, Tunisi, Algeri, animali, Deserto d'Angad, ebrei, cristiani, rinnegati, turchi, chiloulis, berberi, arabi beduini, kabiles, himas, dowars, dascars, cheichs, mauri, donne di Barberia, Usi costumi ed arti, islamismo, Marabouts, Vaili, Musti, Imams, Muezzins, Koran, Dey, Bey, Caids, Chiaux, Isole Baleari, Minorca, Sicilia, Palermo, Isola di Ponza, Sidney Smith e la Società Antipiratica ecc... In discrete condizioni ma completo. Copertina in mezza pelle coeva con titolo e decorazioni e titolo in oro al dorso in buone condizioni generali con lievi usure ai margini e dorso. Legatura in buone condizioni ma lieve rottura al frontespizio e le prime 30 pagine quasi staccate. Pagine in buone condizioni con fioriture e gore d'umidità marginali. Parte mancante restaurata all'ultima carta. In 8. cm 19,5x13. During a sea travel from England to sardinian coasts was kidnapped by pirates and treated as a slave in Algeri. Thanks to a britain representative he was released, leaving a detailed resuming in this writing. The work is very interesting for usages and customs of Algeria Berbera was published different times during XIX century.<BR><BR>Beautiful folded map of Algeria. Inside: Tamigi, Biscaglia, Tago, Fez, kidnapping, Island of San Pietro in Sardegna, Tunisi, Algeri, animals, Desert of Angad, jewish, christians, rinnegati, turkish, chiloulis, berberi, arabians beduins, kabiles, himas, dowars, dascars, cheichs, mauri, donne di Barberia, usages customs and arts, islamism, Marabouts, Vaili, Musti, Imams, Muezzins, Koran, Dey, Bey, Caids, Chiaux, Isole Baleari, Minorca, Sicily, Palermo, Island of Ponza, Sidney Smith and the Società Antipiratica ecc... In fair conditions but complete. Half leather coeval cover with rich golden title and decorations in the spine in good general conditions lightly worn in the extremities. Binding in good conditions but light crack in the title page and the first 30 pages almost detached. Inside pages are in good conditions with foxing and light dump stains. Restauration in the last page. In 8. cm 19,5x13. Pp. 318+(6)
